About FeedTicker
FeedTicker is a simple RSS news reader that scrolls entries across your desktop like tickertape. It's great for news feeds that are constantly updated. It's fun for the whole family. It will make your Macintosh into a dead-sexy information nexus or realize your dreams of turning your monitor into CNN Headline News.
FeedTicker is now compatible with OS X version 10.5 (Leopard)!

Features:
- Polls news feeds every half hour and scrolls the news across your screen whenever there is a change. Alternatively you can set FeedTicker to loop the entries so you have a constant supply of news.
- A click on a news entry will open the link in your default browser.
- A control-click or right-click on a news entry will open an information window with additional entry detail.
- A set of entries can be prefaced with a Title entry labeling the group. Clicking on the title will bring up the site the feed is from.
- Control-clicking or right-clicking on a Title entry will open a menu with a list of all of the feed's entries.
- Can be positioned anywhere on the screen or on additional screens by dragging the "tape" to the new position.
- Can be configured to run floating on top of all of your windows or under your icons on the desktop.
- Fonts as well as background and foreground colors are all configurable. It does transparency too!
- Tickertape sound effects when new entries are introduced.
- Cool transition animations!
- Scrolling speed is configurable.
- All configuration is done through a preferences window in real time; no need to restart the FeedTicker.

Purchase:
FeedTicker is Shareware. Unregistered versions can only run one RSS feed. Registered versions may run unlimited feeds. It isn't "nagware"; it will not bother you to buy a license. Have fun and enjoy it and if you really like it please consider buying one! Registration of FeedTicker will not only give you the satisfaction of helping a starving graduate student buy beer but it will also give me incentive to improve the program or make other interesting programs.
If you have previously purchased a registration key for version 1.0 you do not need to purchase it again. FeedTicker 2.0 will work right out of the box!
Registration costs $7 american. Payment is through PayPal but you don't need a PayPal account; they accept every major credit card.
After purchasing the license you should be redirected to the a page with information about your purchase. After reaching this page your registration key will be mailed to you. If you aren't automatically redirected be sure to click on the link on PayPal's site to do so. If you cannot return to this page or if you do not receive your registration key in the mail an hour or so after payment please email me and I'll send you the key as soon as possible.
Kudos:
Feedticker's icon, as you can see in the upper-right-hand corner, was graciously created by Jennifer Shiman.
Kudos goes to Yann Bizeul, creator of GeekTool and other cool OS X software. The GeekTool source code offered many insights into how I should arrange this project within XCode as well as other code pointers such as how to get something on the desktop under the icons. GeekTool is fantastic, I highly suggest you check it out.
Thanks goes to Lon Berger and Eddie for helping me Beta test.
Kudos goes to Glen Duncan for giving me the idea for FeedTicker.
