I've been flummoxed trying to read my sister's blog live from Hokkaido, Japan using a news aggregator since Blogspot only provides Atom feeds and not RSS.
Their suggestion was to use Feedburner but that site requires registration (bleh!) so Google came to the rescue with this lovely page that converts Atom 0.3 feeds to RSS 1.0. Simple simon, no fuss no muss. Homeboy needs a donation button so we can anoint him with wads of cash for providing this service.
Better yet I should set it up on a local server like he suggests.
It's now amazing to me that I was stymied by this in the first place. This is the sort of thing XSL is FOR. I'm also surprised I hadn't seen this before. Not enough creative Googling I'm afraid.
One of these days I will have to put Atom support in FeedTicker. Is there any interest for such an improvement?
As an aside my Cocoa-enabled textarea spell-checker-as-you-type did NOT mark "Googling" as wrong. Or there either. I know that Google as a verb has been adopted in the popular vernacular but this seems to be going a bit too far. Although color me impressed by the up-to-date-ness of the spellchecker. Too cool for school.
FeedTicker
Gee!
