FeedTicker has been plugging along. Right before I was going to release it I found a major memory leak. The hemorrhaging was so severe the application was taking up 71 MB of space after running overnight. That gaping hole has since been staunched but quite a bit of reworking had to be done to get everything to work correctly so I'm doing the regression testing thing at the moment.
I've written all of the documentation and I have the payment process down so all is left is to release the app. Hopefully soon, I'm itching to get it into people's hands.
Right now I'm in Colorado at my Parent's place. It's been quite a nice change from balmy Los Angeles. In LA I would spend my days sequestered in our office because it was the only room in the house with air conditioning. Trips to the bathroom or anywhere else in the house felt like a 20-degree jump. In Colorado the weather has been beautiful. Some rain, some sun but nothing too hot. I love being able to see clouds again. Plus we've had some thunder!
My sister left on Saturday morning to fly to Tokyo for the JET program. She's going to be helping teach English to Japanese high school students in Sapporo for at least a year. She can renew for up to three years. She even brought her snowboard in this lanky measure of a bag that was also stuffed with other goodies such as her tent. It looked like she was smuggling an anorexic teenager or stacked midgets. She got there OK and has to spend the next few days in sweltering Tokyo for orientation.
I'm totally jealous, she's going to have the best time.
Next week my parents and I are going to do some major hikes, I'm really looking forward to it. I'll take some pictures. Speaking of pictures, I was totally bummed that I didn't have my camera within easy grabbing distance on my descent into DIA; I had a perfect view of downtown Denver at night from the plane. It would have been the best picture. There is something to be said for belt loops but I just can't get over the dork factor.
