Last night J and I head to Cha Cha Cha's on Virgil and Beverly for our one year dating anniversary. Even though it was a Monday night I had made reservations a week ago because I didn't want any problems. This place is on the other side of Hollywood from me so it takes about 45 minutes to get there. As we were finally driving up we notice an unusual amount of trucks parking outside, plus big bright lights, and people milling about. It turns out that a movie was being shot there and they forgot to tell us. We got a hold of the property manager who was very nice about the whole thing and got someone who actually works at Cha Cha Cha's who was also very helpful. They have a new location around Fairfax and Santa Monica that we didn't know about (and is actually much closer to J's place) who they called up and got the owner on the phone. He apologized and told us how to get to that place. We couldn't stop laughing about the whole thing. We headed over and were treated very well. It's right next to the French Marketplace in West Hollywood if you know that place. In the end they gave us the whole meal, sangria and all, for free. We thanked them profusely and left a fat tip. If you like the Jamaican-style spicy then I can't recommend them enough. Just watch out for movie crews.
The movie they were filming was called After the Sunset with Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, and Woody Harrelson. The Cha Cha Cha's on Virgil and Beverly looks like it was transported en massse from a Jamaican beach making it an ideal location (cheap).
