So what's all this about?

Good, fair question.

This is what we call, in the industry, a web page. Although you probably know that already since you are actually here and have, at the very least, rudimentary navigation skills.

This is Lloyd's Lounge. I'm Lloyd. Lloyd is a nickname that I received in high school from my friend Weird Edd. Once I had secured the domain name it stuck. I'm unemployed at the moment so purchasing another possibly more fashionable domain is not something high on my priorities list.

I've made this site into a blog mainly as an excuse to learn PHP and exercise my atrophying CSS skills (such as they are). I am aware that there are other free alternatives to the struggle of rolling my own but where is the fun in that?

I'm a master's student in USC's Master of Science in Multimedia and Creative Technologies. It's been fun. It's been more then odd trying to get back into the swing of school once again after 6 or so odd years of the working world.

I'll tell you this straight up: I remember with fondness how nice it was to leave work at work.

Don't get me started on tests.

Despite all my sass I'm very much enjoying it. The classes have been hard but extremely interesting. I also take the Los Angeles metro to school and have been introduced to a new range of smells that I wasn't aware humans were capable of.

So yesh. Well yeah. OK that's enough.
